The chancellor condemned the ongoing strikes against Ukraine's civilian infrastructure and assured Zelensky of Germany's support, including in strengthening Ukraine's air defenses and the country's post-war reconstruction.
Earlier, Ukraine received 30 BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicles from Slovakia. This was announced by the Minister of Defense of Slovakia, Yaroslav Nad.
The equipment was handed over to the Ukrainian side based on an agreement with Germany, Nad explained.
He thanked German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht for cooperation.
Earlier, it was said that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg hopes to start new negotiations between the member states of the North Atlantic Alliance on the delivery of additional air defense systems to Ukraine.
